$10,000 viewer prize
Star YouTuber Roman Atwood and his Smile More company have decided to chip in a little extra for this week’s Friday Fortnite.
Not only are they funding the $10,000 prize pool for the competition itself, but are also throwing in an additional ten grand for viewers to have a chance to win.
Ten lucky viewers will win $1,000 apiece, and all you have to do to be in contention is watch UMG’s livestream of the event, from which the names will be picked.
What is the Friday Fortnite format?
Friday Fortnite uses a double elimination tournament featuring 16 duos that do battle against each other in public matches
In each round, duos matched up against each other will queue into a public Squads lobby together, where they will then try and get as many eliminations as possible.
After two matches, the team with the most eliminations will advance to the next round. If the elimination total is tied after the two matches, the teams play a third match as a tie-breaker.
Players who try and sabotage their opponents in-game could potentially face disqualification. Examples of sabotage include but are not limited to the following:
- Breaking or weakening opponent’s built or non built structures or cover by any means.
- Causing opponents to miss shots or miss opportunities for advancing their scores in any way shape or form.
- Building in front of your opponent.
- Boogie Bombing your opponent.
- The use of a boogie bomb on your opponent at any point in the game are subject to disqualification
