While promoting ‘Sicario: War of the Cartels,’ Sollima also answered questions from ‘/Film,’ a movie blog, in regards to how a CoD film will be different from other war and video game installations from the past.

“I think it’s more the idea, the concept of telling the story of a soldier, it’s something you have not seen much, there have been many war movies, but no soldier’s movie.”

He later went on to mention how they will need to ‘betray the structure’ and create something that is ‘completely new’ in order to find success with audiences.

“I think the movie has to be a totally different experience from any video game, so in order to make a good movie based on a video game, you have to betray the structure. a video game, you have to create something that is completely new and a great movie.”

As of writing, it is unknown when such a ‘Call of Duty’ film will be released, or which actors will be involved with the production.
